Math Problems or Problem Math?

In a NY Times article, these facts about our economy under the Bush administration were listed:

Medical insurance premiums have risen 60%.
Average tuition at four-year public colleges and universities has increased 20.3%.
The average price of regular gas has increased 40.4%
The median household income, adjusted for inflation, has fallen $1,535.
The wealthiest 10% of taxpayers received half of all the tax savings.

Now, you just have to ask yourself: are you better off now then you were four years ago?
