Obviously nervous about facing Democratic committee scrutiny once the new term begins, UN Ambassador John Bolton is resigning when his recess appointment expires. Failures of Bush administration foreign policy throughout the world, as well as growing resentment by even some of America's closest allies, has now led a number of White House personnel to abandon Bush's sinking ship.
